Selected Figurative Works - Mirrors and Shadows

Shadow, 1990, 8' x 6' x 3', painted handmade paper and string

"Shadow" is from a series of works composed of life-size figures joined to their shadow image with strings. The flat cut out handmade paper forms are suspended from the ceiling and rest on the floor. The "Shadows" are usually exhibited as a group. There are six "Shadows" available in this series.

Selected works from the Mirror Series; left to right (Shrinking Woman; 1993; 8' x 4' x 3'; Face Lift; 1994; 2' x 3' x 1'; Means of Support; 1993; 8' x 4' x 3'); all are handmade paper, string and acrylic paint constructions. The frame is mounted on the wall and the figure hangs from the ceiling in front. These works are self portraits exploring the self and its mirror image and about the process of aging. 10 works are available in the "Mirror" series.
